Debate for the trees! Student competition launched by Legal Sustainability Alliance
The Legal Sustainability Alliance (LSA) has joined forces with the Woodland Trust to host a series of student debates in celebration of the 2017 Tree Charter and are inviting students to take part.
The LSA are a collaborative network of the UK’s leading law firms who are committed to sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint.
Students are invited to prepare a ten minute case in response to the question:
“What role can the practice of law in the 21st Century play in achieving sustainability for the common good?”
This is a relatively informal debate rather than a Moot, but it offers students the chance to meet practising lawyers in some of the top UK law firms and if successful to attend a final event and dinner hosted by Linklaters in London. Not only is this a great networking opportunity there will be a cash prize on offer for the winning team. The competition is open to all years and any number of teams from one institution may apply.
The London heat will be on 9 November hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright. The entry form can be downloaded via Facebook or the debating competition page on the LSA website. Closing date for the London heat is 4th November.
Please send your entries to Amanda Carpenter, Director of Achill Management.
