Reminder: UKELA Moot Competition deadline 18th November

Not heard of UKELA before?
UKELA (UK Environmental Law Association) is the leading membership organisation for anyone interested in environmental law. A place where like minded people (practitioners, academics, organisations and students) can work together to promote a better understanding of environmental law and its impact on the world around us. Weʼve been going for more than 30 years and many of our trustees joined us when they were students. Student membership is only £15 for the year, but all applicants will be provided with a promotion code to join FREE so you can access all the UKELA membership benefits and activities.
…and they run a moot too?
They actually run two! The Lord Slynn of Hadley Moot (Senior Competition) and the Dame Frances Patterson Moot (Junior Competition). Flyer Moot Competition 2024
The competition is sponsored by No5 Chambers and ENDS Report, who also host the finals day on Friday 13 December 2024. The moot problem is set by Odette Chalaby with Howard Leithead as Moot Master. Both Howard and Odette are City Law School alumni. Mr Justice Dove will judge the finals. Winning teams are presented with a trophy and £150 from No5 Chambers; and 3 months free ENDS subscription for the four winners.
How can I find out more?
The moot competition website hosts the problem, rules and entry form, as well as listing all previous winners. You can also get a chance to watch the footage of the final in 2022, when two City students, Naomi Kilcoyne and Joshua Hillis, won the Senior Competition.
