Want a chance to practice your advocacy? See what SpeedMooting.com have to offer…

The guys at Speedmooting.com run a monthly Advocacy Club where members can take part and practise advocacy in a non-judgmental environment (on Zoom). Each meeting focuses on a different aspect of advocacy. Here’s what they have lined up for 2023…

·       Speed mooting

·       Civil submissions advocacy

·       Bail application

·       Plea in mitigation

·       Witness handling

·       Closing Speech

·       Public speaking

·       Debating

The club is open to:

·       Law undergraduates and GDL students;

·       Master’s, Bar course and LPC students;

·       Graduates of any of the above courses.

There is a charge however – have a look at the breakdown of what’s included on their website. There is Legal Advocacy Club and Public Speaking and Debating Advocacy Club for a bit of variation. (Ed note. I have never tried it so can’t recommend one way or the other, but sounds like it could be helpful to some. Let me know if you go along!)
