Need some extra support with your writing? Aside from getting input from your Academic Advisor or the Academic Skills team, you can also receive help on a multitude of issues from a Royal Literary Fund Fellow – Chris Power.

Chris Power is the author of a novel, A Lonely Man, and the story collection Mothers. He is a broadcaster and journalist, writing for papers including the Observer, the Guardian, the London Review of Books and the New York Times. He chairs literary events at festivals including Hay and the Edinburgh International Book Festival. He previously taught on the MA in Fiction at Goldsmiths. In 2025 he was on the jury of the Booker Prize.
He can help with:
- The nuts and bolts of writing: structure, punctuation, clarity
- Critical thinking, paraphrasing and referencing
- Effective planning and time-management strategies
- Self-editing and proofreading
- Coping with the pressures of extended writing
