Sometimes Term 1 of any academic year can feel a bit like everything is coming at you all at once. This might mean you just (!) focused on your studies and getting into a routine. If you feel a bit more confident this term you might consider getting involved in different ways. Here are a few options for you:
Join the BIUCAC Committee

The British & Irish University Commercial Awareness Competition ( “BIUCAC” ) is the largest competition for law students in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
They are currently looking for law students to join the BIUCAC 2026 committee – it gives those chosen great experience at organising and running a national competition and an opportunity to increase their Legal Commercial Awareness. It will also enhance their skillset and CV. All law students are welcome to join the BIUCAC 2026 committee.
The competition is sponsored by 30 of the leading law firms in the world including , Ashurst, Fieldfisher, Travers Smith, White & Case, Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Baker McKenzie, Hogan Lovells, Latham & Watkins, Jones Day etc. Their involvement means some significant prizes on offer. It is worth noting that in past years, some of the Presidents and Vice Presidents of BIUCAC have secured training contracts with some of the sponsor law firms of BIUCAC. As a member of the committee you would also get to attend the BIUCAC 2026 Final in London in late 2026 with the 4 Main law firm sponsors.
