Want to join the Lawbore team?
Emily Allbon (creator of Lawbore) gives a brief rundown of how students can get involved in regularly creating content for the resource this academic year, as well as TL;DR.

At this time of year I look to recruit a new team of student journalists from across City Law School programmes to create content for various parts of the Lawbore site. The focus on writing will be for Future Lawyer and for Learnmore. So what sorts of pieces will you be contributing? Here’s a non-exhaustive list:
- Attending events (at City and beyond) and writing them up
- Undertaking interviews with practitioners
- Doing one-off topical pieces
- Contributing to one of the themed columns
- Law and mortar
- Reviews of law-related TV, film, theatre, literature
- Law as a second career
- Using law outside of solicitor/barrister profession
- Legal tech
- Wellbeing
- Diversity and inclusion
- Pro bono – profiles of the different opportunities
- International alumni interviews
- Women in law
- Skills advice pieces
- Access to justice
- Among us – interviews with current students doing unusual things
- Doing a deep dive into an area of practice “Spotlight on..”
What is crucial for this role is someone who can write in engaging and accessible way and who is able to commit to producing regular content.

There is also another option for those of you who are creative in ways which aren’t limited to textual endeavours. Emily’s research and practical work focuses on Legal Design – how to make the law more understandable, accessible and actionable. She designs in various contexts – for education, but also for charities and other advice-giving organisations, and delivers training for a number of law firms. You can see some of her work on TL;DR.
Have a look at the flyer to the right for the sorts of skills that would be helpful for supporting this part of the site. Creativity is important but that doesn’t necessarily mean ‘artistic’, it can be that you have lots of good ideas about how to make difficult principles or concepts more engaging or comprehensible for different levels.
Both these roles are a brilliant way to quickly become a key member of the City Law School community, to become part of a strong team and to gain or use skills in a way that will benefit many in a lasting way.
Deadline for applications is 6th October so if you are keen, get those applications in quickly!
