Hands up who wants to volunteer at the LSE-Featherstone LGBT+ Moot!
LSE’s LGBT+ Moot is returning Friday 23rd -Saturday 24th February 2024 at LSE’s New Academic Building. This year’s problem concerns the intersection of religious beliefs and discrimination.
The organisers are looking for students to help out in a range of ways. The main role of volunteers is to marshal judges and mooters and help with keeping track of scores. It’s not too demanding, a great networking opportunity, and a lot of fun!
No requirement to be a law student or LGBT+ etc., and no prior mooting/marshalling experience required at all.
Alongside the moot there will be workshops on a range of LGBT+ law issues and social events – all of which will be open to volunteers (breakfast and lunch will be provided on the Saturday). Everyone is invited to attend the Welcome Reception and Closing Party as well. The event is a fun forum for students, practitioners, and activists to learn more about LGBT+ law issues and to support each other in their careers.
Leading barristers (from Matrix, Doughty Street, Garden Court, Blackstone, 2TG, Old Square, Hardwicke… the list goes on) and solicitors (Linklaters, Dentons, Cleary…) will be judging. So you will see some of them in action and get to network with them too.
More information can be found on the moot’s website, but if you have any questions, please email schwarzjulie@hotmail.fr or lselgbtmoot@gmail.com.
Please complete the sign-up form if interested. They particularly need help on the Friday afternoon and the Saturday morning during the preliminary rounds.
