City Scholars Moot Final 2013 – Catherine Elliott

Our finalists and Lady Hale

The final of the City Scholars Mooting Competition was successfully held on March 21st in the Supreme Court with Lady Hale acting as the judge. This was a fantastic experience not only for the mooting finalists but also for all those staff and students who came to support them. The finalists were:

Patrick Smith (GELLB)
Zainab Lenton (GELLB)
Justin Wong (LLB)
Philip Pacanowski (GELLB)

The students all performed to a very high standard and were well prepared to respond to Lady Hale’s rigorous questioning.

Ultimately Lady Hale chose Justin Wong from the second year of the LLB programme as the winner, because of the way he managed to adapt intelligently his submissions to respond to the mooting debates.

This is the second year that the competition final has been held in the Supreme Court with Lady Hale as the judge and The City Law School feels honoured to be able to give this opportunity to its students.
