Calling all LLB 3 law students : Class of 24/25 Mentoring Scheme with Irwin Mitchell
We have just over 30 places available for this year’s mentoring scheme with Irwin Mitchell, which will see you matched with knowledgeable mentors who can support your professional development. The scheme can help you if you’re puzzled about how to pursue a career in law, or if you want to know how to become more employable after your degree.
The benefits of being mentored include:
- Developing your confidence and networking skills
- Providing a view and insight into the different roles available to legal practitioners
- One-to-one support with CV writing and interview skills
- Providing a steppingstone to becoming a highly employable graduate.
The scheme is looking to assist students who:
- Have had less experience in the workforce and would like to know how to make the most of the skills and knowledge derived from their studies
- Are at a crossroads; lacking confidence; or unsure how to kick-start their legal careers.
If you want to secure a place then all I need you to do complete this application form. This is a competitive scheme based on need, so please answer questions as clearly as possible. The deadline for applying is Friday 4th October. Irwin Mitchell have asked that priority be given to students who are first generation into university; and/or are from a community currently under-represented in the industry; and/or do not yet have training contracts. This is not a work placement or internship scheme, but a development opportunity and one I hope that you will find rewarding over the months to come.
Any specific questions then please get back to Jane Bradley-Smith, Associate Dean Student Experience, otherwise she will be in touch once the deadline has passed.
